Nero's Guest, a documentary about education that was directed by Deepa Bhatia, features Palagummi Sainath, the former rural editor of The Hindu, who takes the lead by raising concerns about the 1997 farmer suicide and the government's failure to address it. The documentary Nero's Guest depicts Mr. Sainath's efforts at a period when the state of Maharashtra was experiencing extreme poverty and 200,000 farmers were committing suicide as a result of debt and hardship starting in 1997.

Sainath, who serves as both a commentator and a character in the movie, exemplifies Bhatia's imaginative approach to the subject. Sequences of him being observed at work place him in the narrative as a strong and eloquent voice with the capacity to spark action among the ranks of lawmakers and bureaucrats. He motivates the younger generation and piques the interest of his audiences as an academic instructor.

the documentary serves as a sobering reality check for many who celebrate India's breathtaking economic development rates and increasing consumerism. This documentary gives us insight about the one of our deep rooted problems which is poverty and how the graph of helpless farmers death increased throughout the years. It motivates the youth of this generation and aspiring journalists to not be like nero's guest and take a stand to make sure the rate livelihood in our country increases.
