Journalism may also be counted as a main reason for Indian independence. The first Indian news paper ” Bengal Gazette ” was launched by James Augustus Hickey and he is also regarded as the father of Indian journalism. The same news paper was agained published in 1817 under Indian administration. It was published by Gangadhar Bhattacharjee. The vernacular Press Act was proposed by Lord Lytton , the then viceroy of India . The act curtailed the freedom of non- English newspapers in India. The main reason was to prevent Indian origin newspapers from expressing criticism of British Policies. James Silk Buckingham was a British author who launched his 8 page biweekly called the ” Calcutta Journal “ .                               Credit: medium.com Nero's Guest, a documentary about education that was directed by Deepa Bhatia, features Palagummi Sainath, the former rural editor of The Hindu, who takes the lead by raising concerns about the 1997 farmer suicide and the government's failure to address it. The documentary Nero's Guest depicts Mr. Sainath's efforts at a period when the state of Maharashtra was experiencing extreme poverty and 200,000 farmers were committing suicide as a result of debt and hardship starting in 1997. Sainath, who serves as both a commentator and a character in the movie, exemplifies Bhatia's imaginative approach to the subject. Sequences of him being observed at work place him in the narrative as a strong and eloquent voice with the capacity to spark action among the ranks of lawmakers and bureaucrats. Story 1 : teens sentenced after plotting gun attack on school   Cleveland,  Ohio -  two teenagers have been sentenced to a minimum of a year in custody for plotting an attack at their  high school. The two boys , 15 and 15 , had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder at South High School. They still could be held until tje age of 21 the maximum penalty under juvenile law , but under the sentence pronounced, the state department of Youth Services has the discretion to release them after a year .  The plot was discovered when a student told school officials a group of teenagers planned to open fire on Oct 29th , homecoming day . Two other students have pleased guilty to inducing panic  . One of them received a minimum 6- month sentence. Snowden , directed by Oliver Stone , fills in some of the background to this whistleblower's actions.
